California resident Tim Watson works as a bus driver and drives passengers around the San Francisco area every day. It seems like a simple job, nothing special, but one day he became a true hero!

That day, Tim was on his route. In the city of Milpitas, an unusual pair boarded the bus, immediately catching the driver`s attention. It was a guy about 20 years old, leading a crying child.

”I immediately sensed something was wrong because the boy looked terrified,” our story`s hero recounts about the incident. Soon after, the driver`s suspicions were confirmed...

The radio reported that an hour ago, a 3-year-old boy was kidnapped from the central library. His mom got distracted for literally a minute, and during that time, the child disappeared. Witnesses said the boy was taken by a dark-skinned guy. This was followed by a detailed description of the child and the kidnapper.
”They were sitting at the very back of the bus, so I couldn`t see if the child matched the description. To confirm it without raising suspicion, I had to act cleverly,” our story`s hero says.

Tim Watson pretended that one of the previous passengers had called him about a forgotten bag. The driver announced the loss to the passengers and went into the cabin to search. Tim went all the way to the back of the bus, carefully checking the luggage racks and under each seat. His real goal was to get to the child and see what shoes he was wearing.
”The radio described in detail what the child looked like and what he was wearing. From the driver`s seat, I couldn`t see all the details, so I wasn`t sure it was really him. However, when I saw that the child was dressed in plaid shorts and red sandals, as reported on the radio, all my suspicions were confirmed,” the bus driver says.

Being next to the child, Tim Watson didn`t let on that he had recognized him. He continued searching for the ”lost” bag, then calmly returned to his seat.

Resuming the trip, Tim Watson called the police and reported that the kidnapper with the child was on his bus. At the next stop in Fremont, the criminal was arrested. He turned out to be 23-year-old homeless man from Pittsburgh, Alfonso Edington.

The healthy and unharmed child returned to his mother, and Tim Watson became a real hero!
