Goblin shark.

This visually terrifying shark was caught by fishermen off the coast of Australia in southern New South Wales.

The goblin shark, also known as the poltergeist shark, is rarely seen on the surface, as it lives at depths of about 1200 meters underwater.
Oarfish.

This huge fish, resembling a snake, also lives in great depths. It is very rarely encountered, but in the last five years, there have been several cases where these fish were washed ashore.

This fish with two mouths was discovered by a fisherman in southern Australia. The fisherman saw such a fish for the first time: the two mouths were connected, and while the upper mouth opened and closed, the lower mouth remained closed.

Although the creature more resembles an alien, it is a basket star, called Gorgon`s head. This specimen was found in Singapore. Basket stars are marine animals, similar to brittle stars with branched fleshy `arms` that curl like snakes. They are distant relatives of sea stars.
Lion`s mane jellyfish.

Occasionally, jellyfish are washed ashore, but it is quite rare to see the world`s largest jellyfish - the lion`s mane jellyfish. The largest representatives of these jellyfish reach 2.4 meters in diameter.
Sawfish.

Sawfish are rarely found on shore, as these fish usually swim in the open ocean. This find was discovered by fishermen in North Carolina. Sawfish have a tendency toward cannibalism, that is, feeding on their own kind.
Pelagic megamouth shark.

This strange-looking shark was washed ashore in the Philippines. The 4.5-meter-long shark had no tail. The pelagic megamouth shark is a very rare species, and only about 60 specimens have been found in all time.
Montauk monster.

This creature`s body was washed ashore in the Montauk area, New York, USA. The creature was never officially identified, but many believe it is a raccoon carcass.
