Somewhere around 1860, photographs featuring `ghosts` became very popular. Many photographers used special techniques to create photos showing a ghost in peoples homes. And many people got hooked on it!

But photographer William Hope went even further. He claimed to be a medium and that his photographs were direct proof that spirits live among us. Of course, today that sounds like outright lies, but these photos make you think.
