After Stephanies pregnancy ended, she developed a fairly common side effect called diastasis (rectus abdominis muscle separation). Simply put, the abdominal muscles did not contract and regain their previous shape but remained loose. This is why the skin in this body region is exposed to greater risks of injury.
In practice, this means that there is a kind of indentation in the abdomen, covered by skin. Even in normal pregnancies, women experience such side effects, but this case is even more specific.
Although Stephanies belly has lost its previous appeal, she does not despair. She does the opposite and by showing her belly, she wants to support other women with similar problems.
`I know that my belly has become unattractive in mens eyes. I cant do anything about it, and I have to live with it! When I first went running in a crop top, it was a big challenge for me. Soon, I realized that people around me treat me the same as before. No one showed dislike or disgust towards me.`
`With my example, I want to inspire other women with similar problems. Because I know how these women feel, and in such situations, support from others is needed.` - says Stephanie.
For one of the latest published pictures, Stephanie added a comment: `Looking down, I see my belly, and it will stay with me for life, muscles that need strengthening, strong legs and feet ready to fight!`
`Now, running a half-marathon, I can maintain 5:20 per kilometer, a good pace, but after giving birth, I have minor issues with urination, my abdominal muscles dont contract, and the skin looks wrinkled.` - thats how Stephanie commented on this photo taken after a marathon.
Now Stephanie has resumed her previous training load. She hopes to participate in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. We wish her dreams come true and success! If this womans courage and openness inspired you too, be sure to tell your friends and recommend this article.
