Social-psychological age

It is a person`s psychological age that determines behavior and appearance, and it is completely dependent on brain processes. At the beginning of the 19th century, a man or woman aged 35-40 was considered old. Due to the abundance of information and greater busyness, humanity as a whole began to live longer, and it is time to recognize changes in age classification.
The World Health Organization has set new age boundaries: today youth lasts from 25 to 44 years. So 40-year-old women are still girls, not second-rate, as many men like to joke. Further, from 44 to 60 years old, a modern person is middle-aged, from 60 to 75 - retirement age, and only from 75 to 90 does old age set in. Those over 90 are called long-livers.
However, not everyone manages to maintain the youth of the body and face in those 40 years, let alone 50 and 60. Our psychology, internal `settings` and attitude towards life prevent us from staying young in soul and body in old age. External appearance also depends on this. The main hypothesis, for the research of which billions of dollars were spent, states: our aging speed depends directly on the brain.

This is easy to prove. At first, our brains are very busy with getting to know the world, ourselves, supplementing knowledge and various conclusions. Our entire body is involved in these processes and works to the fullest. As soon as the world becomes uninteresting, as you stop exploring it, expanding your competence, learning, aging begins immediately. Your brain and body no longer work actively. By the way, this is also where various Alzheimer`s diseases come from.
It is important to notice psychological aging in time. There are 3 indicators:

1. Attitude towards time

When you feel that all the best events in your life have already happened, and it`s too late for something, you have started to age. A psychologically old person lives in memories, a young one - in future plans. Pessimism, a sense of hopelessness, lack of plans, constant thinking about memories - all this are indicators of psychological age and biological catalysts.

Not for nothing, in America people over 60 enter institutes, attend various courses. Everything new helps brain activity and an optimistic mood.
2. Limitations

Psychological age is associated with self-pity: `In my 50s I can no longer do what I did at 20. I can no longer do a somersault and won`t jump with a parachute`. With age, it is understandable that we set more limitations for ourselves related to physical abilities and responsibility.

With each life period, new opportunities open up. If it`s hard to do something physically, you can start developing artistic abilities.

Learn new languages, engage in tourism, visit new countries, organize various events. And many 20-year-olds won`t be able to compete with you. Don`t limit yourself, but look for opportunities.
3. Emotional stability

Modern science and millennial wisdom have proven that the most grateful and happiest people live longer and look more beautiful. Stable psyche guarantees youth. A person who can calmly adapt to changes and endure difficulties without taking everything to heart, without getting stuck on the problem, will always look younger.

Cheerful people have a different face formation, they have fewer aging wrinkles and they are much more attractive.

Seeing the good, having a sense of humor and thanking life for every day lived - this is a guarantee of psychological youth. It is connected with a large number of hormonal and neurochemical processes that occur in the brain.
Develop, be happy no matter what, the main thing is not to cling to the year of birth written in the passport! Many people stop working on themselves just because at 50 it`s not expected, it`s already too late. This is your life, your emotions and your body after all. No one has the right to reproach you for anything.
