Texas resident Katy McLaughlin is a very talented hairdresser. Any salon would offer her a job, but Katy has always dreamed of her own hair salon.
Working as a hairdresser, Katy had saved up quite a large sum of money, but it still wasn`t enough to start her own business and open a salon. Renting space, not to mention buying it, is quite expensive in the US.
Despite the almost hopeless situation, Katy continued to dream, and dreams do come true. One day, Katy noticed an ad in the newspaper for a 1966 residential camper van for sale. She had a brilliant idea, bought the van, and turned it into a mobile hair salon.

The camper van wasn`t in its first freshness, but overall the exterior was preserved quite well.
But inside, there was complete chaos and it required immediate action!
It was this internal mess that was the reason for selling the van at a very reasonable price.
Katy`s initial plans already included a complete redesign of the van`s interior, so she bought it without thinking twice.
All the junk inside was removed and taken straight to the dump.
Next came the interior setup work, and everything necessary for a hairdresser`s work was installed there.
As a result, the trailer`s interior was completely transformed!
Now this is a modern hair salon, but its style is maintained in the manner of the sixties of the last century.
The van`s exterior also underwent small decorative changes. All imperfections were carefully sanded to restore its original shine.
The old camper van now shines like new!
`At first, when I showed my new purchase to friends, they looked at me like I was crazy because they didn`t believe that such a camper van, which had already served its time, could be turned into something functional. I stuck firmly to my vision and started the van transformation process.` - says Katy.
The money spent on buying and renovating the van has fully paid off. More and more people want to use the new hair salon, you even have to wait in line because Katy can`t handle all the clients! Appointments with Katy need to be made well in advance, otherwise you won`t get into this salon!
