The use of the plant is based on aloe`s abilities to accelerate metabolism, stimulate tissue regeneration, and prevent tumor formation. We will tell you about several possible ways to use aloe in the treatment of hemorrhoids.
Hemorrhoid treatment at home
1. Internal use
When taken internally, aloe creates a mild laxative effect: softens feces, which favorably affects blood vessel walls. 20 minutes before eating, drink 1 tsp. of fresh aloe juice. For treatment purposes, choose leaves that have reached 15 cm in length, as they have managed to accumulate the necessary amount of beneficial substances.
2. Compresses with aloe decoction
Compresses help well in acute cases of the disease, with deep tears. The effect is achieved not only based on aloe`s properties but also due to the therapeutic effect of heat.
Cut 2–3 large leaves, cut each into several parts, place in an enameled container and pour warm boiled water. Simmer the remedy under a lid on low heat for 15 minutes, making sure the water does not boil. This way, the beneficial substances will remain fully in the decoction.
Soak a piece of gauze folded 6–8 times in the warm decoction and apply to the anal opening for 40–45 minutes (it`s better to lie down during this time).
3. Compresses with fresh aloe juice
Fresh juice can be used if there is no acute inflammation accompanied by bleeding. After thorough hygienic treatment of the anal opening, apply a cotton swab soaked in aloe juice for 2-3 minutes.
4. Suppositories from aloe pulp
Cut a 5-6 cm piece from a large aloe leaf. Completely remove the outer hard skin. Use the resulting jelly-like pulp as regular rectal suppositories. The procedure lasts 20 minutes.
The plant is hypoallergenic, so the treatment should not cause any unwanted reactions, but particularly sensitive people should better perform a test before use to rule out possible complications – itching, swelling, redness.
Aloe should not be used by pregnant women (it can provoke spontaneous abortion), women during menstruation (it can intensify bleeding), and internally for those prone to diarrhea.
