The photographer Sandra Hoyn accidentally learned about the mans strange love for a toy when she met Dirk on a forum.
She asked for permission to immortalize this unusual couple and received permission only on the condition that the mans identity would not be revealed. Therefore the mans face is not in the photo and the name Dirk is made up.
The man says that after the divorce he suffered a deep psychological trauma. Only when Jenny entered his life did he regain peace.
Dirk sees in this woman a fragile and vulnerable woman and is very worried about what will happen to her when he gets old.
Sandra Hoyn says that from the outside Dirk and Jenny look practically like a normal family with the amendment that the doll cannot speak and cannot move independently.
Sandra hopes that her photo project will help those around to overcome their prejudices and accept Dirks life choice.
