How to lower high blood pressure

Acupressure – an ancient term that denotes point massage, during which fingers gently and firmly act on biologically active points. The treatment and prevention of diseases by pressing on such points was recently considered only a method to relieve symptoms, but today views on point massage have radically changed.

It has been scientifically proven that systematic point massage helps not only with hypertension, migraines, and insomnia, but is also an effective component of complex treatment for acute rhinitis and bronchitis, in cases of hypertension, and is even used as a method to combat potency problems in men.
In case of high pressure, massage will quickly help reduce the readings to normal numbers. It will relieve headaches and general weakness against the background of the diseased state, and also invigorate the body. With a skillful approach, a hypertension patient can improve not only the functionality of the cardiovascular system, but also the respiratory and nervous systems.

All you have to do is learn the correct massage technique and act on the necessary points. And most importantly – such a quick blood pressure lowering technique can be used anytime and anywhere, without the help of specialists. Feeling unwell during a meeting or on public transport? Breathe calmly, evenly, through your nose. Try to be relaxed, even if the impact on the points causes painful sensations. Remember that the impact on the points should be plastic, precise, careful, at the same time not traumatic.

Before the procedure, warm your hands, eat (preferably 40 minutes before the session) and be sure to measure your pressure: if it is too high, perform the point massage for no longer than 15 minutes. Strictly following the technique, after the acupressure session, you feel warmth and pleasant pain that lasts 20 – 30 minutes.
1. With the pad of your thumb, find under the lower jaw on the left the place where the carotid artery pulsation is felt, press and hold for 10 seconds. Then release your finger, take a deep breath, exhale, and press again. Repeat this procedure three times and then do the same under the lower jaw on the right side.
2. Next, press three times on the medulla oblongata area (the place where the occiput connects to the neck), holding for 10 – 15 seconds.
3. With three fingers of the right and left hands synchronously press on the area located at the bottom of the neck at the back, to the right and left of the spine. Again, repeat the point massage three times.
4. For 15 seconds, squeeze and stretch the middle finger of each hand. Perform sequentially.
5. On the inside of the palm, find the point below the little finger and press on it for a minute. Repeat on the other hand.
6. To lower pressure, also act on active points on the feet, which are located in the center of the foot, 10 cm above the heel. Act on such points on the right and left feet for 2 – 3 minutes.
7. For sustained lowering of arterial blood pressure, we recommend performing light stroking of the collar zone and the upper part of the chest, as well as massaging the neck and occiput with finger pads with slight pressure.

There are a huge number of acupressure points, but it is enough to choose those zones where acting on the points causes maximum discomfort: the more unpleasant the procedure, the more effective the result will be.
