Protein or zinc deficiency
If you have horizontal stripes that disappear at the nail base, it may indicate a protein deficiency. If you have white veins on your nails – it means your body lacks zinc.
Superficial fungal onychomycosis
White spots on nails can be an indicator of warts, fungus (onychomycosis), or even psoriasis and eczema.
