1) Cluster headaches

They usually occur around one eye or behind it, typically spreading on one side of the face. On the affected side, there may be swelling, redness, and sweating.

With cluster headaches, a person may have a stuffy nose and tearing. These headaches are episodic, each can last from 15 minutes to 3 hours. Most people experience 1 to 4 headaches per day, appearing at the same time each day. Once one headache is over, another will soon follow.

Treatment: during pain, use ointment with capsaicin - a natural alkaloid obtained from hot peppers. Apply a small amount of ointment near the nasal sinuses, it will ease the pain syndrome.
2) Migraine.

During a migraine, you feel intense throbbing from deep in the head, usually one-sided. Such pain can last several days. People with severe migraines are often sensitive to light and sound. There is usually also nausea and vomiting. Before the migraine appears, visual disturbances known as aura may occur. They are experienced by one in five sufferers.

Predisposition to migraine is usually hereditary. It can also indicate other nervous system diseases. Women suffer from migraines three times more often than men.

Treatment: for many patients, omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin B2 (riboflavin), and magnesium help in migraine prevention. According to studies, aerobic exercises are also effective.
3) Tension headaches.

Tension headaches manifest as a dull, aching sensation that spreads across the entire head. They are not throbbing. There may be sensitivity or soreness in the neck or shoulder muscles. Most often, such pain is caused by stress, which leads to tension in the neck and head muscles. Tension headaches can cause nausea or vomiting.

Treatment: to reduce pain, brew yourself tea with ginger and rub your head and neck with peppermint oil, which will help relax tense muscles.

4) Sinus headaches.

They are often confused with migraines - these headaches are indeed very similar. But they have different causes. People with chronic seasonal allergies or sinusitis experience sinus pain.

You can get rid of such pain only by dissolving or getting rid of the mucus that accumulates and causes sinus pressure. Sinus headaches can also be a symptom of a sinus infection. In such cases, you can`t manage without antibiotics.

Treatment: drink as much fluid as possible - especially warm water, which reduces inflammation and opens the nasal sinuses. Eat oranges, drink tea with lemon, consume foods high in vitamin C, it will help the body fight infections. Eat soup with fresh ginger - it has strong anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties.

We hope these tips will help you get rid of headaches and quickly return to normal life.
