HOW MANY FLOWERS CAN BE GIVEN

There are people who believe that flowers can only be given to living people in odd numbers. Others would never give a loved one two, four, or six flowers in their life, because they believe: bouquets with even numbers of flowers are only brought to graves.
The superstition related to the number of flowers in a bouquet appeared in Russia back when paganism reigned there. Sorcerers, who were responsible for various magical rituals, considered even numbers as complete, dead. This is where the famous saying ”Trouble does not come alone” comes from.
An odd number, on the contrary, symbolizes life, development, prosperity. There is a belief that this view has come to us from Japan. The Japanese hieroglyph meaning the number 4 is very similar to the hieroglyph meaning ”death”.
There are many more rules for creating a gift flower bouquet. For example, flowers both even and odd up to 12. After 12, their count no longer matters.
The prohibition on using odd numbers in gift flower bouquets has been preserved only in the former CIS territory. In other countries, bouquets consisting of 2, 4, 6, and 8 flowers are much more popular.
Bouquets of odd-numbered flowers are interpreted as follows:

1. one flower - showing attention;
2. three flowers - respect;
3. five flowers - convey your confession;
4. seven flowers - about admiration;
5. nine flowers - submission and endless admiration;
6. eleven flowers - symbolize one heart for two;
7. thirteen flowers - appropriate to give on anniversaries, important dates, and jubilees, as a symbol of eternal love.
EDITORIAL RECOMMENDATION

To avoid an unpleasant situation, choose a large flower bouquet consisting of many small flowers. No one will count them safely. In the worst case, if you are unfamiliar with the traditions of the country you are in, give live flowers in a pot, it will always be a desirable gift that symbolizes long years of life and durability.
