21 years ago, in the city named New Urengoy, a girl named Katya Nezhenzeva was born. The moment Irina, the newborn`s mother, saw her daughter`s face, she was very scared - her entire daughter`s face was covered in wrinkles. Irina`s husband, realizing what kind of daughter he had, decided he couldn`t handle such a twist of fate and left the family.
The doctors were convinced that the girl suffered from a very rare genetic disease - progeria - which results in skin changes associated with premature aging of the body. If we believe the statistics, there are no more than 100 people in the world with this diagnosis. Usually, people with this disease do not live very long. But that certainly doesn`t apply to Katya!

All her life she suffered from ridicule and bullying from her classmates because from early childhood her face looked like a grandmother`s. `I kept asking myself why this was happening to me but I couldn`t find an answer` - Katya shared in an interview one day.
Her fighting spirit helped the girl not to give up. Thanks to her natural charisma and strong character, she made true friends who didn`t care how many wrinkles were on her face.
Katya`s case is so unique. In 2011, she managed to appear as a guest on a famous show broadcast on the central television channel. After this event, several leading surgeons in the country became interested in the girl. After weighing all the pros and cons, she still decided in favor of surgical intervention. They improved and tightened her facial oval, changed the shape of her nose and eyes.
The radical changes in appearance completely transformed the girl. But that`s not the end of the story. Despite the disease, Katya managed to meet her true love and get married. Fate brought them together completely by chance - Denis simply tried to call someone and made a mistake with one digit in the number. In this way, a banal carelessness turned into true love. Katya`s husband confirms that his wife has a special charm that he had never seen in any woman before!
When Katya became pregnant, the doctors feared that the child might inherit her disease. Fortunately, that didn`t happen, and quite recently she gave the world a boy named Gleb. `God gave us a wonderful son with my husband - what could be better?` - unable to believe her happiness, Katya says.
This woman`s story inspires and shows that you should never give up. Happiness is not a gift of fate, it is each person`s personal choice.
