`Drink as much water as possible!` – we are encouraged in almost every article about healthy eating. However, doctors think differently: excessive water consumption creates additional load on the kidneys and provides no benefit to the body.

How to drink water properly
Every person is individual and daily water consumption needs differ for each. If you have heart diseases or kidney problems, then an additional doctor`s consultation is recommended.
But the main question is not how much liquid to consume, but when! Doctors recommend following a few simple rules.
1. Drink 1-2 glasses of water right after waking up. At night our body dehydrates, so there is a need to replenish fluid reserves.
2. Before each meal, it is advisable to drink 200 ml of water. This will speed up metabolism.
3. Try to compensate each cup of tea or coffee drunk with one glass of water.
4. Should you drink with food? Doctors` opinions differ. Some believe it is harmful because water dilutes stomach acid. Others say it is not recommended for people with low stomach acid levels.
5. During high-intensity strength training, it is necessary to drink 150 ml of water every 20 minutes (the volume of a regular plastic cup).
6. It is better to limit fluid intake at night, especially for people with kidney diseases.
