But the main thing – the tastiest bacon comes out only when you make it with your own hands. However, if you want smoked bacon but have no desire to smoke it at all, there`s one secret: we boil the bacon in onion peels with black plums!

Delicious bacon in onion peels

Homemade boiled bacon in onion peels will also taste good to those who aren`t particularly fond of pork dishes. The peels give the finished dish a golden hue, and the special marinade makes the cooked bacon incredibly soft, tender, and aromatic. Each piece just melts in your mouth…

Ingredients

• 1 kg bacon with meat layers
• 5–6 black plums
• 2 bay leaves
• 7 garlic cloves
• 3 handfuls of onion peels
• 200 g salt
• 2 tbsp sugar
• 3 tbsp ground black pepper
• 1 l water
• paprika or dry adjika to taste
This bacon preparation recipe is hard to call simple, but the result is worth it! Tasty, soft, moderately salty… You can safely treat even those who can`t stand fatty pork with such a delicacy. So, let`s begin.
Preparation

1. Pour water into a pot, add salt, sugar, onion peels, black plums, and bay leaves, put on the heat and bring to a boil.
2. Place the bacon, cut into several pieces, into the marinade and cook over low heat for 25 minutes.
3. Remove the pot from the heat, let it cool, and put it in the refrigerator for 12 hours.
4. Once the bacon has marinated, remove it from the marinade and dry each piece with a paper towel.
5. Grate the garlic with pepper, then roll each piece of bacon in the spice mixture. For those who like it spicier, the pieces can be sprinkled with dry adjika or paprika.
6. Wrap the bacon in plastic wrap or foil and put it in the refrigerator for a few hours. Done! Honestly, such a delicious dish is not a shame to serve even on the holiday table.
The finished bacon, as if smoked, can be stored in the refrigerator for about two weeks, but if the family doesn`t devour it by then, you can safely put the aromatic bacon in the freezer. But, to be honest, in reality, such a modest portion of excellent bacon disappears in a few days. Make it and you won`t regret it at all!
