ALCOHOL LEVEL IN BLOOD
The traffic police do not sleep, especially during times of big events when people tend to drink something stronger, and the most irresponsible decide to get behind the wheel while intoxicated. As a result of such wrong actions, tragic car accidents happen, people`s lives are ruined, all because of a simple reason - alcohol and excessive self-confidence.
The consequences caused by alcohol consumption negatively affect reaction and decision-making speed. Brain activity slows down, nervous excitement increases, and it is impossible to 100% control one`s actions. Accidents with drunk drivers happen very often and it is truly sad.
Here is a vivid example of how different alcohol concentrations affect the ability to drive a car.
1. 0.2-0.3 promille of alcohol in the blood significantly slows down the reaction. In such a state, it is difficult to assess the speed at which light sources are moving, the distance to them, and their size.
2. 0.5-0.8 promille, which is 1 liter of beer or 120 ml of vodka, impairs vision function, eyes adapt more slowly to different lighting types and perceive red light to a lesser extent.
3. An even larger dose of alcohol narrows the field of vision, and the driver completely stops controlling what is happening on the sides.
4. 2.5 liters of beer or 300 ml of vodka (1.2 promille), as a rule, leads to complete inability to drive a car. If others are lucky, the irresponsible driver will crash into a pole before managing to leave the parking lot.
5. If there are 5 or more promille in the blood - it is officially considered a lethal dose!
As is known, alcohol does not leave the body as quickly as one would like. This difficult process can take 4-16 hours, and even more! Everything depends on the person`s gender, weight, the amount of food eaten, and individual metabolism.
If a person has not eaten while drinking alcohol, the stomach remains empty, alcohol does not stay in it and immediately goes to the intestinal tract, absorbs into the blood and disappears quickly. This means that in such a situation, the person gets intoxicated quickly and sobers up just as quickly.
But if you have eaten richly and drunk a glass of alcohol, the alcohol stays in the stomach with the food until it is processed. This means that the person does not get drunk as quickly, but the alcohol leaves the body over a much longer time.
Take note: the traffic police device analyzes not the blood, but the breath. It happens that there is no alcohol in the blood, but there is in the breath. If you rinse your mouth with vodka, alcohol will still be in the breath for 20 minutes, the same applies to alcohol-containing medications.
Allowed is 0.2-0.3 promille - this is not a gift to drivers, but only a way to avoid problems if the alcohol amount in the blood is inaccurately determined.
Even when consuming a small amount of alcohol, driving a vehicle is categorically prohibited! Do not be a criminal and do not endanger other lives. Our editorial team votes for a healthy lifestyle and the right attitude towards it.
