Dog owners know their four-legged friends habits and routines like the back of their hand: what they like to eat, how they like to play, and how they behave when theyve done something wrong. However, sometimes dogs behavior is so strange that even their owners cant understand the meaning behind their odd actions.

We found out what signs indicate that a dog fully trusts you.
1. Yawns together with you
Often, when watching other people yawn, we start doing the same. Scientists have proven that this happens because we can empathize with close ones on an emotional level. The same happens with dogs: when watching a dear person yawn, the animal also starts yawning. Therefore, if you notice this peculiarity in your pet, be assured that it indicates your emotional closeness with him.
2. Looks into your eyes
Japanese scientists discovered that when dogs and their owners look into each other's eyes for 30 minutes, the level of the hormone oxytocin, also called the trust hormone, increases in both organisms. It is oxytocin that reduces anxiety and creates feelings of peace and satisfaction. Therefore, when your tailed friend looks into your eyes, he is showing his love in this way.
3. Shares toys
Have you noticed that sometimes a dog brings you his favorite ball, but when you throw it for him to play, he doesn't run after it? Actually, dogs don't always want to play. Sometimes they bring you a toy to share with you. They give away the most precious thing they have so that you can play too. In this way, the dog shows his affection and how dear you are to him.
4. Sleeps with you
If your pet, despite all prohibitions, tries in every way to climb into bed with you, it's a sure sign that he trusts you. The thing is, dogs sleep where they feel comfortable and safe. Therefore, if the dog whines at night behind your bedroom door, don't yell at him, because he just wants to rest with his 'pack,' which gives him a sense of peace.
5. Knows your daily routine
For your pets to feel safe, they need a certain routine. They remember that you, for example, get up at 7 in the morning and return home at 8 in the evening. Over time, animals get used to your schedule and start expecting conditional events. Therefore, if you stick to household rituals, the dog understands that you won't deceive him and can be trusted.
6. Steals your things
Dogs often 'help' the hostess take off stockings, and the host – socks, they can steal underwear and even your favorite slippers. Then they settle on your wardrobe item and sleep sweetly, hugging it. Your pet does this not to anger you. Simply, in this way, it's easier for him to endure separation from you, because feeling your scent, it seems to him that you are nearby. However, if your dog constantly chews shoes, it's a sign of distrust – in this way, he tries to settle scores with his enemy.
7. Shows 'puppy tenderness' after eating
American professor Gregory Berns scans dogs' brains to find out what they think. He described the results of his research in the book 'How Dogs Love Us.' Gregory found that if after eating the dog starts rubbing against the owner and showing 'puppy tenderness' in every way, then in this way he shows his love and gratitude.

8. Reacts calmly when you leave
A dog that trusts its owner reacts calmly to him leaving. He won't start barking and howling, but will simply wait for your return. After all, he trusts you and knows that you will definitely come back. If, on the contrary, your animal panics when you leave, it indicates his fear that you won't return and will abandon him.
Some tips on how to gain a dog's trust
1. Walk the dog at the same time – this will instill confidence in your actions.
2. Use treats (for example, dog food or special chew bones that can be bought at a pet store). When the dog takes the treat from your hand – be sure to praise him. Repeat this ritual every day. Over time, the dog will get used to the fact that you wish him well and are not going to harm him.
3. Create a joint ritual with the dog. For example, if your animal likes having his ears scratched, devote 10 minutes to this process every day. This way, you will associate with pleasant sensations for the pet.
4. Don't approach the dog if he has hidden under the table or under the bed. This way, you will only show that you want to invade his territory.
5. Don't hit the dog. If he has done something wrong, change your intonation to strict and give a moral lecture, you can even push his nose into the 'incident,' but don't raise your hand against the animal – this way you will only turn the animal against you.
